Trolly Mounted Water Treatment Plant

1.0    FILTER VESSEL:

Dimension: diameter: 20 inch, height: 72 inch. Material of construction: FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic). Media: Quartz Sand.  Backwash device: Multiport Valve. The multiport valve has three operational positions – BACKWASH – FAST RINSE – FILTER. The ports can be interchanged by changing the handle to the desired position. 

BACKWASH:

In this position raw water will go to bottom of the vessel through the center pipe of the filter vessel and will be drained from the top of the filter vessel with the impurities retained in the filter bed.

FAST RINSE:

In this position raw water will enter at the top of the filter vessel, filtered by the existing media and will be drained from the top through the center pipe of the filter vessel. This operation helps to settle the filter bed and drains the remaining raw water used for backwash.

FILTER:

In this position raw water will enter at the top of the filter vessel, filtered by the existing media and will be collected from the top through the center pipe of the filter vessel.

 

 

2.0 MAINTENANCE OF SAND FILTER:

a. The filter need to backwash every day.

b. During backwash chlorination system will be switched on & de-chlorination, Antiscalant will be switched off.

c.  Please place the handle of multiport valve in BACKWASH position and switch on the LP feed pump. The sand filter will start backwash & the standard backwash time is 15 minutes. The clarity of input raw water and backwash drain water will be same at the end of backwash.

d. After completion of backwash please place the multiport handle in FAST RINSE position for 5 minutes.

e. After completion of fast rinse the handle of multiport valve need to place at FILTER position.

f. The sand filter has to backwash if the pressure meter before sand filter exceeds 50 psi pressure.

3.0 MAINTENANCE OF ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER:

a. The filter need to backwash every day.

b.  During backwash chlorination & de-chlorination system will be switched on & Antiscalant will be switched off.

c.  Please place the handle of sand filter multiport valve in FILTER position and activated carbon filter multiport valve in BACKWASH position. Switch on the LP feed pump. The activated carbon filter will start backwash & the standard backwash time is 15 minutes.

d.  After completion of backwash please place the multiport handle in FAST RINSE position for 5 minutes.

e. After completion of fast rinse the handle of multiport valve need to place at FILTER position.
